1400 *F revisited
I posted a while back about seeing some kinda high egt`s, in the 1400 range, and that I had a small hole in one of my intercooler boots. Well, this past weekend I got around to changing all the boots with some silicone hose, rated for 500*F. My boost levels are up a couple but it was still hitiing 1400 on a long pull,AND I think the trans might be slipping a little at these power levels (hard to tell with that el-crappo stock T/C) so i backed out the full fuel screw a turn or so, went a little too far as now it will hit 25 psi but only 900 on the egt`s. Could it be that I was running the H1c too far out of it`s map? I should preface the last question by saying that boost was right around 30psi and at anything over say 25 the turbo whistle would get REALLY high pitched. I ck`ed the turbo when i put in the 16cm housing and the bearings seemed fine, NO play that I could detect so i don`t think the bearings are shot, and the prev owner took IMMACULATE care of it (oil changes EVERY 3k). Is it time for something bigger??...I`ve been saving my pennies/nickles/dimes/20`s, so hopefully sometime this summer I can upgrade, what do you all think?

Yeah, I think the H1C was a restriction at that point. On my truck I noticed a huge difference on the top end when I changed turbos. My dyno sheets from last fall when I had the POD's and a WH1C were flat from 2000 to 2500 RPM.

I'll let the more experienced people answer the too much fuel/ not enough air question
As for the trans. I just serviced mine again and also did the front and rear band adjustments. They definately needed to be done. I'm seeing the difference in the trans temp gauge. Takes longer to heat up and seems much better. Might want to do that to get as much as you can out of the stock trans. I bought the in. lbs. torque wrench on sale for less than $20 on sale at the local HF store.
