AFC tuning may be required.

Wanna helped me several years ago with my star wheel adjustment after I got busted by the smoke police. It actually ran better when I backed off the star wheel.

one advantage of quik spool-up on a ve pumped truck is the ve,s fuel delivery flattens out over 2500 rpm, but it fuels well bottem and mid-range. a laggy turbo really narrows powerband. depends on driving style/truck use. i like broad powerband/lowend-mid for daily driving, towing in mountians.

So, I've driven a little more with the 12CM and I gotta say, I can't see much fault in it. The thing will spool 3 psi just downshifting. I run with a little boost pretty much all the time, and as soon as you push the pedal it starts to build boost.

I think I still have some fuel screw to go, as I hit about 24-25 PSI max, but it sure hits it a lot faster than it used to.

Definitely an improvement over the 21...and even at ~75, which is as fast as I really ever drive, my EGTs weren't any higher than with the 21CM.

Good idea, Crossy...thanks for the recommendation!

THat is an excelent point. My life would be easier if I didn't wrap the crap out of my truck and spill antifreeze down the side of the block. But my fueling seems fine at speed. Don't know why, but it shure is fun.
Low end torque is better in general, I agree.

Holy cow! I can't imagine how bad a 21cm is on a 5.9. My 18.5cm was terrible. A 12cm probably feels like a rocket ship! I'll bet it's fun.

yea the 18.5 was a dog, by the time it was spooled in 3rd gear the powerband was so gone, the ve would throw all its bottom end fuel right out the tailpipe.

Smoke is virtually gone now as long as you're not lugging it.

That's the great part about this forum, makes us want to spend money and gives us the advice we need to make the right purchases!

Yea it is a bad bad thing. What makes it worse is you dont have to worry about breaking stuff like you do on a gasser.
