12cm is on

If you have a 1st gen 5 speed truck, and don't have a 12cm exhaust housing. GET ONE .

night-day difference.

Well after conferring with "wanna" I put a 12cm on my truck with an auto, and I tow with it. Amazingly different.

Egts are up 100* on a long wot run (1500)... Boost went from 27 to 31 psi...wastegate is wired shut... No bark. Little more whistle is all.... Still running stock intake and nasty airfilter.

I posted a wanted ad in the classifieds right here and a guy wrote me and said he had one that was missing the wastegate can...which is perfect as I planned on wiring it shut anyhow.

Thanks for the kind words on the tranny...glad it's done, too!

It's not my thread.....but I'll answer. I do have to watch the egt's if I'm in the mountains with the fifth wheel.....(if they hit 1300 I back out) and every now and then there will be a little bit of bark but not much.

I would like the quicker spool, but hate the loss of top end. I am hitting aluminun slag temps with my 16cm as it is....

Noticed no difference in top end power, that's the weird thing. Pulls like a bear in 4th and 5th.

ive ran several size housings and like the 12 hands down. the idea that "restriction" of the 12 robs top end and raises egts is not so. its all about keeping the turbo in its "map" ive put them on auto,s and tuned the pump and mpg went up and cruising egts dropped a little.

3rd gear is where the biggest difference is, if you're driving 25mph in 3rd gear and you mash it to the floor it puts your head against the back window and takes off immediately, before it would cloud out the whole town and take like 2 seconds to kick in. lol

Hmmm. Mine is a lag master to the tune of 4-5 seconds, but I am at high altitude. When it hits though its "Katy bar the Barn"!
ANy of you guys running a similar tune to mine with a 12cm?
