1/4 mile times
okay guys.... looking for some 1/4 times for 1g's!
perferably for a stockish one... like my 90 with 3.07's a auto, no air box, and straight pipped. My buddy is betting it wont run 16's, but after "fixing" it I beg to differ. If you could give me a ballpark that would be great to Because im thinking of taking it to the track this weekend, my race car is broken and Ive had the itch all winter!
so post your times guys! ET and MPH is awsome.. but a 60 foot time tells alot too!
Thanks
Dustin

16.25 @ 79 mph, 2.60/60' idle out of the hole. Still spinning off the line.
After the fuel pin grind and more full fuel screw
16.32 @ 82 mph, 2.59/60' and 10.40 in the 1/8 mile. Spun real hard in first and was squirrelly in second.
With an LSD I'd be nicely in the 15s. Automatic trucks run pretty hard. That crappy torque converter also lets you spool.

18.5? wow. It feels alot better then that, and Ive raced/been in enough cars to have a somewhat feeling of what a car should run.
You guys had horrible 60 foots... I wonder how much running it in 4wd would help the 60, and hurt the trap? A 2.60 60 cut down to a 2.0 would cut your time by more then a second. Probaly put it into the high 14's. But the trap seems low for that. Were you on the governer by the end of the track?
Im so wanting to bomb this thing and take it to the track. My race car wont be running for at least 2 months, and I wanna go racing! Im taking it the next wed night test and tune, I dont care how slow it is!

the 60' of the pass listed in my sig under the 89 was a 1.87, but thats with slicks and a locked rear.
BTW, 4wd will help a lot if you have traction issues in 2wd and its not really gonna kill your mph at all. Thats how I run my 2nd gen, I figure a 1.76 60' aint too bad for a nearly 7000lb 4x4.

When my brother owned the 89 he would always launch at 10psi. He launched at 15psi a couple times and spun the tires one of the times, but the track wasnt prepped that night.
I launch my 2nd gen at 15psi everytime I race. Accidently let it go at about 20psi once and it got pretty bad wheel hop in 4wd, but thats why I bought billet shafts
