Re:You're gonna love this!!

Good lord,... who wants a truck that needs an electronic pacemaker???
Stick with a 92.5-93 1st Gen. They are a piece of cake to work on, easy to tease into decent HP with good mileage and give you very little problems.
Right now I'm running around 230 RWHP at 18.7 mpg US, with one short journey into 299 HP range. Wayyyy too much smoke and heat without a better 'charger' and cam.
A truck in the range I mentioned above is running around 12K-16K Can. That's allowing for stick/auto, mileage, regular cab/clubcab, etc.

No mine is not for sale...

bob.

milne,

Just to hit on what yomitch said- '94-'98.5 have the oil-lubricated P7100 injection pump and a mechanical lift pump that almost never give any problems. In '95, the engines started coming with the HX35W turbo. Both are easily turned up for more power.

My '96 has two simple rotary ***** for climate control. True, I do have an SLT, so the radio/tape player has the 5 band equalizer and a few extra buttons... The Infinity speakers sound great for a stock system! My ex-cab has a "real" fold-up bench seat. When this body style first came out, I wasn't too sure about it, but it has really grown on me, now that I own one, I wouldn't trade for any other.
Re:You're gonna love this!!

I have a 96 x-cab 4x2 long bed slt, maroon, diprocol boost and egt guages on 1/2 a-pillar, 5 speed, just rolled 65,000 miles today. Pump tweaked some, will hit 30 lbs boost and is very strong. Michelins 265x75r16e tires with about 70% tread left. Trailer tow package. Truck is very clean inside and out, new starter, rear axle seals, royal purple in tranny and differential. I will sell for 15,500 after xmas so I can buy 2003 ho auto. My wife wants me to get an auto. I can e-mail pics if you want. e-mail address is edndebpritchett@juno.com
