WTS light / Pyrometer gauge
My 1997 12 Valve is acting funny. The wait to start light will come on while driving and I did not notice until today, it seems like when the light comes on my pyro gauge starts acting up as well! When the light is off the gauge runs a little between 300 and 400 or so empty, when the light comes on the gauge drops to around 200 or under.
Whats wrong here? I just bought the truck and trying to contact the previous owner to get details on what has and has not been done to it.

Could be the intake temp sensor or it's wiring is messing up causing the grid heaters to come on when not needed.
The grids draw a lot of juice and are probably pulling down the voltage effecting the pyro. If you look close your voltmeter and and lights are probably taking a dive too.
If you want to temporarily disconnect the grids it takes about two seconds.
Follow the big wires at your intake manifold down to the two relays right below the battery. Disconnect one of the small connectors from each relay, they just push on.

When I drove it home Friday night I did not notice anything with the lights and the volt/battery gauge was not moving.
Is this something that is easy to replace to fix the problem? I assume this is why it will smoke in the mornings....
