WOW No high EGT's

;D ;D ;D I just replaced my exhaust system, and the egt's came down like a rock....
We have a large hill here that before if i got on the throttle, the egt's would hit 1100 pretty fast and not cool down all that fast either, But now i can pull that hill with it on the florr and it never went over 700 and that is with 34psi boost.
I couldn't be happier. ;D
Just thought i would let you all know, if you are thinking about doing the switch.....do it, well worth the money. ;D ;D

Allen,

Great!! Your giving me all the right reason to move up to bigger exhaust! ;D ;D
Question though, how'd you get that high of boost with what your info says still appears to be stock? Did you modify the waste gate?
My 97 bumps up against 24 and then the waste gate kicks in... :'(

Re:WOW No high EGT's

I adjusted the wastegate, it took a few times to get it there....I dont think its a good idea to completely disable the wastegate, when i first got this truck it would only got to about 22psi [undecided]....well i got the bomb thing going ;D ;D...i installed a #10, and so i did adjust the gate, Now i want a # 8 or 6. But im waiting for somebody to sell one for the right price.
Alen

Allen:

When you replaced your exhaust did you check if the cat was plugged? Or did you have a resonator? I'm thinking about the same thing but don't have the gauges yet to know. Glad to hear it worked.

Paul

Yes it was about 1/2 plugged...i was expecting alot more.
Also the muffler when idling at a light would raddle so bad that i would have to lean on the throttle to raise the rpm to get rid of the raddle.
No more....it is great now.
Allen

What kind of #'s are you making with that #5? Will @ BMD tried to sell me a #5 but isn't that "supposed" to be for Auto's? ???

Re:WOW No high EGT's

Allen T,
As you can see we almost have the same truck. I was wondering what gear your auto was in and what speed you were moving when pulling 700 degrees? I only have a #12plate and at wide open throttle 3000rpm 5th gear and maybe 90 95mph im up there around 800 or 900 degrees. I have a afe mega cannon intake, the afc wheel is all the way forword and my 4" exhaust has a muffler but its strait through. I wonder if my gauge is messed up. pos di-pricol. I'd never buy them again. I think the gauge read like 100 or 200 degrees out of the box but at idle its just around 400. is that what you run at idle? thanks.
