A buddy of mine has a '97 with about 240,000 miles and his lift pump needs to be replaced. I think he said it's putting out about 10 psi.<br><br>Where is the best place to get a replacement lift pump for the 12 valve engines. He was quoted approx. $340.00 from a place here in the area. I told him I thought he could probably do better than that.<br><br>Thanks in advance for your help.

I paid $168.10 for the pump and two gaskets from the cummins dealer in birmingham. If you're not near a cummins dealer they will ship.

Check Piers website.<br>I think that they are on sale this month $150 I think.<br>I got mine at local Cummins shop $166.<br>Where ever you get it make sure you get BOTH gaskets or you WILL have an oil leak.<br><br> Good Luck !<br><br><br> : Eddie : 8)

When you say lift pump are you actually refering to the fuel pump? Or are they two different animals? I heard the fuel pump is VERY expensive.<br><br>Thanks<br><br>Glen

Lift Pump is the fuel transfer pump that transfers fuel to fuel filter and on to Injection pump.<br><br>Injection pump is the pump that injects fuel into cylnders.<br>And it is expensive.<br><br> : Eddie : 8)
