where is the fuel heater ??
i changed my fuel filter for the 1st time since i owned the truck today. im wondering where the fuel heater is ?? the only wires i saw were for the WIF sensor. i had the whole cup out of the tuck to clean it out before installing the new filter and i didnt see anything ?? is mine missing ? was it an option ? thanks, scott

I think your referring to the air heater in the intake. If you remove the upper intake its right there. It heats up when you turn the key on and get the wait to start on the dash.
Oh yea, there are two (about 8 or 10 gauge wires) that run up on the engine on the drivers side infront of the intake, ussually covered by rubber caps, thats it.

I know the GM diesels (6.2 & 6.5) have a fuel heater located in the valley bellow the intake manifold. When you plug those trucks in, there is a small heater that heats the fuel before it enters the injection pump.
I dont know if our trucks have this same system or not.

The fuel preheater/pre filter is right below and bit to the front of the fuel filter, go to cummns to get the service kit it is $8.00 compared to $42.00 at a dodge house. Search the tech facts on service, it is a simple job and a very overlooked one at that. Goodluck, Rick
