I'm looking for info on a fair price for a '98 12v with no pump. Not sure on how many miles are on it, i'm waiting to hear back from the guy. He's asking $1700, that seems kinda high to me with out a pump.

 

for just the engine right? seems a little high it will cost you over 2000 for a new p pump with out a core.

 

Yeah, just the engine. Thats kinda what I thought. Any idea how much I should offer? Also isn't '98 one of the years with the 53 block? Or maybe that is on 24v motors.

 

I think just the 24V had them I have a 98 12V and its not a 53 block I had a 98 24v and it was a 53 block. I would look around on e-bay I have seen complete Engines go for $2500 so maybe $1000? it would be nice to know the miles also

 

also check craigslist lotta cheap stuff on there.... seen a full motor on there, pump, turbo, the works for 900 one time

i spent 1500 on a long block with 80k wish i would've looked around a bit more

 

Some 12v's came with a 53 block I have one. But I am not worried.

 

If you do pick up that engine, there are a couple pumps in the classifieds for $1100 to $1200. Ones a 887 with plate and springs, another has been gone through and pushes 450 cc of fuel. I picked up one similar to the first one I mentioned for $850 about 10 months ago. Jet pilot had a 913 pump for sale a while ago for $900. So you can get a decent pump for around $1k if you wait. But $1800 seems high for a pumpless engine. I paid the equivalent of that ($1300+vp pump) for a 94 engine.
