What are the problems with disconnecting the wastegate on an hx-35 stock turbo

I have a '95 12 valve 5 spd 4x4 all stock (pyro and boost gauges) and i had heard in the past there are some not good things associated with leaving the waste gate disconnected so it boosts all the time. It has been boosting between 11 and 19 psi while driving hwy speed and i want to know will this mess anything up?

all the wastegate (wg) does is limit the amount of boost pressure. at stock fuel levels i dont think you will see much of an increase in boost numbers, also at stock levels it wont hurt anything to disconnect it or block it off.

Mine has been disconnected for a year now. The actuator was leaking so I unhooked it and blocked off the line until I could get a new one. Boost never got over 30psi when pulling so I left it alone.

Just watch your boost gauge, the general consensus seems to be that 30 - 32 psi is a good safe limit for a stock headgasket.
