well i got a few problems

first, i used to be able to shift in 4wd just fine but it was a little sticky to get out of but now since the weather is cold it wont even engage at all it has full range through all the gears but wont click in 4wd so i figured i would adjust the linkage and it was stuck in one place so i sprayed some thrust one it and freed it up and while loose i shifted into 4hi then back to 2wd to loosen it up a bit and tightend the bolt down while it 2wd but it still wont engage. any ideas?

second problem, i used to have the vents out of the dash but now they dont seem to open i can hear air blowing behind the dash but nothing through the vents could this be a resistor?

Sounds like you have a vacuum issue. The 4wd and the dash vents are all controlled by the vacuum. Don't know much more about it, but that's where you should start.

Pretty sure it is only when engaged. When I got mine the vacuum actuator on the front axle was bad and the light wouldn't come on at all.

Less than $100. I don't remember for sure, it's been several years ago, but I want to say around $80.

you might have water in the vacuum lines and it froze. just a thought. and those lines do kinda hang down easy to catch and pull off.

Could be oil in the vac lines also, if the check valve on the vac pump is not working or missing. There was recall on some of these years ago.

Good luck.
