Want to add an extra fuel filter . What type????
Want to put another filter before my lift pump on the frame or somewhere on my 12 v . Something that has a water seperator and drain etc.... with easy to change filters . Anyone running a setup like this ? Will it cause the LP to work too hard and cause lack of fuel problems (starvation) to the engine. ???

Better get one that flows a crap load of fuel. The engine may not use much fuel but it shure circulates a bunch. Just disconnect the return fuel hose sometime and see how much is coming out of it. I bet it's close to 60gph and your filter will need to do that on the suction side of the system. good luck, cd

I have a 45 gal. auxiliary tank in the bed of my truck, flowing through a big NAPA diesel filter sitting under the bed and then into the filler neck of the main tank. A lot of the time I'll purposely fill the aux. tank and then pump it into the main tank just to filter it twice.

We have a prevost h3-45 at work that has a racor filter in it you can see the element thru a plastic bowl. The higher the level in the glass the more restricted your filter is. Boss hates that filter...I like em so ill be putting it on the 12 valve as soon as it comes off of the green leaker......I hate detroits

I have a Racor remote filter set-up on my Dodge Cummins (No 1 in signature). I use a 20 micron filter.
Make sure you plumb the installation correctly so that your lift pump does the least amount of work. Gives peace of mind even though my first lift pump went approx 150K before it died. I'm now on my second lift pump in this truck.
