Very sick 96, no crank no start
I'm at a loss. Went out in the morning to fire it up and got a couple of clicks then nothing. Thought weak batteries or bad connection, no big deal.
batteries, ok.
Connections seem good.
Take starter out for bench test with jumper cables and temp trigger wire, turned but seemed slow. swapped it to another one with Advance (lifetime warranty)
Tested trigger wire at starter, no power with switch to start position.
Figured I could rig up a switch to trigger everything so battery to switch to trigger pole on starter solenoid, now I get a click pulling the fuel solenoid in, but no crank.
Tried shorting trigger terminal to positive cable at starter, get solenoid click but no crank.
What am I missing? My temporary switch should work to crank it over shouldn't it? Would like to get it fired up then figure out what is wrong with the ignition switch/system that it isn't sending a signal to the trigger wire. Any ideas are welcomed.

I wired a relay in to a toggle switch and can start it that way, but now my accessories aren't working. Radio works, headlights, wipers, but the blower motor and windows won't work. I'm thinking that I've got a problem with the ignition switch since it also isn't sending a signal to the trigger wire on the starter. My ABS light is also on and I'm not getting a good reading (at least on the instrument panel) that the Alternator is charging properly. Will check with a multimeter later tonight.
Does that seem logical that ignition switch is at fault?

I don't think that is your issue, but it is cheap enough to try, under 30 bucks for a new one.
Hate to say it, but time to get out your FSM and start tracking wires and grounds.
Did anything weird or did you do anything to the truck immediately preceding this?
