Vacuum pump

Ok I have an oil leak which looks like its coming from the vacuum pump and the back of the timing gear case. I got the seal to fix it, took off the two bolts that hold it on and tried to remove the whole unit so that I can replace the seals for the power steering pump also. Problem is the vacuum pump would not come off or ever budge. I have tried searching for this, but not finding much. Anyone have suggestions or comments? Thank you for your time

I did the pump seals and a new power steering pump recently. I found that you can take the whole assembly down but theres one nut you need to get at in the middle thats secured to a bracket on the block. This one is sandwiched in between a couple thigns so you cant get a socket or a wrench on it. I used a crows foot and a universal on a 12" extension to get at it. Be careful of that oil line that it doesnt get twisted up. Its supposed to swivel but it gets rusty. its a 54$ part from cummins.
Youll want to do a pump seal rebuild if youre in there. Even if the vaccum looks ok its a good idea. spec is 8 to 25 inches I got 28 after the rebuild.. dunno whats thats about. The seal kit is pretty cheap from cummins, but theres another guy that offers a kit with good instructions and some PVC seal drivers. its at http://www.fixinrams.com/.
The directions will point out the nuts you have to get at on that bracket.
