Vaccum Pump Question???
Will a Vac/Power Steering Pump off a 2000 work on my truck???
I've got a line on a known good one, for cheap, and wondering if it will work.
Would I need to change lines or anything like that...I can probably do most of that in our shop if I can get the right fittings (we have our own hydraulic hose machine )
Thanks in advance guys,
Chris

Chris,
Do you need a vacuum pump already? I've got 170K and mine is just starting to get weak. I had it apart to replace the seal on the shaft as it was leaking oil. It is completely rebuildabe and you should be able to perform a search and find someone who has reman units available for maybe $200 + core. The vacuum pump new is in the $2000 range and the power steering pump should be right about $200 if you have a buddy behind the parts counter. Unless you have a line on the two for less than $500 I wouldn't bite.

How's less than $200 for both...not new, but off a running engine will WAAAY less miles than mine!
BTW, 170K is about 115K miles light
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
I just realized you have a '95! Duh! Signature 600 threw me off. I thought you were being cute and calling your new "600 as in torque on the '05's" a signature like the real 600's. Then I never paid attention that you posted this in the 12V forum. It's late Sunday afternoon and I've had a few already.
