Useless OD gear
#16
My lock up switch can do manual lock and manual unlock. It is easy to hook up with a 3 position switch. I rarely lock it maually, but I use the unlock feature frequently when towing. I find that in certain conditions like accelerating up a grade, it goes to lock up too soon. I don't want to turn the OD off because I am accelerating through the gears - I just use it to delay the lock up.

Thanks 98 rammer. I will try that site. I did the pressure adjustments per Bill K. last weekend. My tranny was about 10 psi low. I also adjusted the light throttle shift. I have not towed yet, but when manually shifting from D to OD the tranny shifts quicker and crisper. It also waits to 14 to shift to 3rd where it was shifting at 8.I hope it will hold my #6 plate in OD now. With 137K on a stock tranny I have the feeling I'll be seeing more of Bill K soon.

Check your TPS voltage! As I have discovered, if the voltage is too low it WILL affect lock up pressure. Sometimes putting it at slightly over the spec'd 1.2 volts can really boost lockup pressure at part throttle and even elimnate chatter. Apparently, almost all of them are below the spec'd minimum voltage of .80 volts for some reason.
