upshifting comes and goes

upshifting comes and goes
I posted a while back about my truck not upshifting until a very high rpm was reached(like around 2800). No one had much info so I thought I would try again now that I have a few more symptoms. When I start the truck and apply pressure to throttle it feels firmer than normal. When it does this I can tell that it wont shift and sure enough as soon as I get out of driveway and start down the street it wont shift. Now if I get going in first and then put it in nuetrel and kill the engine and then start it back up and put it in gear the throttle feels light again and the truck shifts like normal. This problem comes and goes. Sometimes once or twice a day sometimes once or twice a week. Any help would be much appreciated.
