Unusual rattle form front of motor

I just noticed today that there is a strange kinda rattle coming from the front of my motor Im thinking mabye fan clutch or water pump it doesnt get any louder or quieter with more rpm. Looking for any tips. Thanks Jesse

Check your crank position sensor Mine had loosen up and was rubbing on the damper. It was giving a ratteling sound. If that is it when you raise it back up don't forget to set the clearance on it or your alternater will not charge. Been there done that too.

Looks like, from another post, you're fixin' to tackle the KDP soon.

You might want to pull the cover completely, instead of just jigging.
You might find something rattling around in there?

Set the A/C on max cold and then engage and disengage the compressor. See if that changes the sound. Could be a bad compressor clutch.

thats what mine doing when the comperssor in not engage it makes the rattle been doing that for years, here i fl hardly never turn the ac off

With the engine off, grab the plate on the front of the A/C compressor clutch and see if you can give it a shake. It may have broken away.

Well I found out what the rattle was today, it was the KDP it had fallen out and was rattling around on the gears when I pulled the front cover off it fell into the oil pan.

Tell me about it I dont see how it didnt crack the housing, on my 97 the pin fell out but didnt bust the outside of the case but it did bust it up pretty good on the inside.
