Undoing ?? performance adjustments ??
Just picked up an 89 D 350 5spd man. I would like to know if there is any harm in putting the "smoke screw" in top of injection pump back to a more factory like setting. I can not have this large black cloud of smoke once the turbo starts working after every shift. Did an experiment and started backing screw out 1 turn at a time settled on 3 turns out. Little smoke and turbo lag seems less. Everything is marked and noted so I can go back if needed. Just want to make sure that this is ok to do without changing other settings that might have been done. Still getting all the little bugs worked out this truck. By the way this is a towing/work truck I was told that the pump was stock and just turned up for power/smoke. Thanks for the help guys. Tod
