Ultra Low Sulfur Fuel
#3
the only things are; the U.L.S.D. fuel loosens up old deposits and causes fuel filters to clog fast, within the first few tanks. also your fuel economy will be worse. other wise if you know of a place that still sells #2 fuel give me the address. oh! I have noticed a power loss as well with U.L.S.D.

It will be fine. Most ULSD complaints have been overblown. Very few filters plugged and very few seals leaked.
No need for lubricants. All diesels already get lubricty additives put in them.
The loss in fuel economy due to less density is very, very small. 1-2% at most. Anything more is not the ULSD's fault.
You likley have been using ULSD for about 6 months now.

I've heard all the horror stories and live in an area that still sells #2 diesel, South Texas. I actually use Mexican diesel, but that's another story. Well, here we go.I am visiting my son in Dallas, Georiga near Atlanta. I've been here almost a month and on my 3rd tank of ulsd took a trip to South Georgia and another day to Athens. I also have a Gear Venders splitter which I use a lot especially with the 22% decrease in rpm when unloaded. I kept the truck/200ctd 4x4 at 60 mph with the cruise as much as possible. On that tank I averaged 24 miles to the gallon, So, what I'm saying I don't see any loss in mileage or performance maybe even a gain. Just my opinion.
I'm also a user of Marvel Mystery Oil and have been in my truck for at least 120,000 miles. It now has 153,000 and still very strong.

Are you guys talking about putting lubricants directly into the fuel when referencing Marvel Mystery oil???
I have 189,000 on my truck now, wondering if I would benefit at all from adding lubricants ?
