Twin Turbo Help
What is the pros and cons of installing a second turbo. Any major problems to look forward to. Thought it would be a nice boost, but don't know where to start..

twins wont do anything for you unless you have excessive fuel to burn...
what do you want out of the truck? towing performance? racing? daily driver that can get up and go?

Pros
way better power curve, almost instant boost on some occasions, makes drivability fun, much cooler egts to a certain extent..
Cons,
u need more fuel to run twins, higher costs due to fuel prices, more prone to breakage... EXPENSIVE TO BUY, and complex to build if u ask me..... limited to exhibition pulls if u pull (in some cases)
At least in my opinion, I wish i could afford twins tho

Pros.. Just about anything you can think of.
Cons.. Getting at the oil filter..
I think with just about anything that we do to our trucks there will be draw backs for some reason or another. The benefits out weigh the draw backs hands down IMHO.
Here is a copy of the email that I sent to Piers after we did the towing twins on my truck. Would I do them again...as quick as it would take to pick the phone and order the parts.
As far as need all kinds of fuel to spool them...I dont believe so. Piers has on a number of occasions got his fueling box sold off of his 04.5 and he had to run around with stock injectors and no fuel box. He said that it spools up just fine..
Piers..
We did the install this past weekend on my truck. WOW what a difference it made in the way the truck runs and performs. With changing the exhaust housing on the 35 to the 12 instead of the 14 it seems like the big charger spools nearly off idle.
I had more lag with the single 35/14 than I do with the twins. I can hear the big charger at about 8lbs and then about 10-12lbs I can feel the umph. So far with the miles that I have put on it since Saturday I have not gotten on it yet. The truck is so much quieter and so much stronger.....I love this setup!
The egt results is beyond anything that I had hoped for.. Here is what I seen this morning running empty on my way to work.
60 mph on cruise......use to be 600*....after the twins 500*
70 mph on cruise......use to be 625*....after the twins 525*
70 mph on cruise going over overpass..use to be 850*....after the twins...625*
Havent pulled the trailer yet..but so far I am thrill'd with the results. Now I need to eventually order the head studs to give me a little more insurance...
Thanks again for working with me on this setup...
