Turning a 95' 2500 into a dually?
#16
The previous owner was an older gentleman who I think hauled horses with the truck. So it has hauled but I dont know if it was overloaded on a regular basis or not. I looked for a 3500 originally but then found mine that was a rust free, 1 owner, southern truck with an excellent maintenance history, so I bought it and love it but it seems I just need more. Are the 3500 springs the same as the 2500's? anybody know?

I think the 2500 and 3500 springs are the same or at least very close. My 97 2500 is a camper special and doesnt squat at all with a 20 foot gooseneck and might squat maybe a half inch when I hook up to my boat and have all the camping gear in the back.

Mine is the Camper special also.
I will take a pic. and count the leafs in the morning.
As for doing a 3500 conversion, I know its been done on here. Im pretty sure its just find a 3500 axle and wheels and bolt it up. If its a 4x4 you need a rear axle with the same gears as the front.

I only have the bottom 4 springs, it doesnt have the top two like your guys does. That may be my problem. I would still like to do a conversion if I can do it reasonably $$$$$$$ I may try to buy another pair of springs right now and try that then buy an axle later and make it a dually. Does anybody know what I need to do to the front axle to make it work with the dished wheels? I read something on here somewhere about using an rear axle from a drw cab chassis model rather than a regular truck, anybody know why? Thanks guys
