i am told that my massive engine oil leak is being caused by ''blown turbo seals'' and it looks like ill be changing this out myself. does anyone have any suggestions for the source and model to replace it with? cummins says $823. for a remanufactured unit but i'm sure i can probably get one for less and i'm hoping to find ones that may even a little better than the ''standard '' rebuilt unit (without going broke). the truck is a 1997 12 valve with a tst #11 kit.

 

just get a up graded 35 or 40 from piers.

Any turbo shop can fix the seals for much less if you pull the turbo yourself.

 

i spoke with piers this evening and they told me my options and all of the pros and cons of all. i am ordering a 35 from them (new unit) and i am keeping my stock housing. i just hope it all makes it here before saturday so i can install it all! thanks!
