Triple A Pillar Pod - fuel pressure gauge?

I found a guy that was parting out a 96 4x4 that was built for pulling. I scored a couple of interior door panels that were in much better shape than mine. The DPO pulled the door panels off my truck and broke the plastic parts that hold the push pins to the panels. Basically the only thing holding the panels to the door are the screws and the lip at the window. The ones I picked up yesterday have a few broken clips and are a lot cleaner than mine.

He sold me a triple gauge pod for my a-pillar for $15. I have a double pod with a EGT and boost gauge. For some time I thought a fuel pressure gauge is something I should have. My truck was abused when I got it. When I change fuel filters, even 5 years later, they come out black. I often wondered if I would get a better idea when it was time to change the fuel filter if I had a gauge.

I have a 1997 5 speed 4x4. It has 3.55 gears. It has a #11 plate, BHAF and a 4" exhaust. Most everything else is stock. When I work it I used it to haul firewood. I tow a 5'x8' military trailer behind it. The truck and trailer are usually full of wood. Anyway, would a fuel pressure gauge be the best option for the third gauge? Would a trans temp gauge be better? Should I sell the gauge and forget about it? What's your opinion?

The guages are much cheaper than an injector pump. I put one in and found that my ofv was toast. Some folks are running the electric ones with two senders, pre and post filter ( switched of course) so they can tell when to change the filter.

These pumps are oil lubricated. Why would low fuel pressure cause a failure?

The upper end of the injection pump is fuel lubed and cooled.
This requires a good flow of return fuel that only happens when the fuel pressure is adequate.
