ok i have had my truck now for 8 months now and just resently the trany has been acting up, normally the tc would lock up at 45 mph and then stay there. but lately it has been going to 45 then down shifting then up shifting and down and up so on and so forth until i get to about 55 then everything locks up. it does this about 60% of the time i accelerate the other 40% it works just fine. does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

 

You might want to check your throttle position sensor. Mine was doing the same thing as you described, and it was the TPS. It was sloppy and worn, so it didn't give the proper throttle position information to the computer.

2nd on the TPS, if its not the TPS, check codes to see if any of the solenoids/sensors on the VB are bad.

 

install the potentiometer (5k omh at radio shack) i installed it and love it , gives more control and waaaaaay cheaper... search this site for pot. or potentiometer
