Transmission

How do you tell the differenc between an 47RH and a 47RE transmission. My truck is a 96 auto 5.9 ctd. I am looking for a shift kit for my 96 ram and am having trouble. Is their one avaible for my truck or am I going to have to get a whole valve body.

I would think the VIN number would tell a good shop which one you have. Hopefully it is stock.

It's stock. Transmission shop dosen't need to know I am looking for a shift kit. One I found listed it was for 727,518,46rh and 47rh. It said it was for years 71-96. I know they are basicly the same but I wanted to know for sure.
