TransGo Shift Kit installed, won't downsift to 1st or 2nd!!!

Alright, I spent most of this weekend working on the trans in the 95, I installed the TFOD Shift Kit from TransGo, apparently had 1 too many beers because I drilled a hole in the wrong place, but caught it as soon as I did, so I plugged it and drilled where I was supposed to, anyways, now the transmission will not shift into 1st or even 2nd when I come to a stop, so I "launch" out of 3rd...its making tons of heat, and acceleration is dismal. If I shift into 2nd or 1st it will drop into gear, but no way otherwise. It also seems to shift way too harshly, so I'm almost positive the line pressure is too high. Problem is I have the adjustment screw all the way out and it still hasn't helped, I'm wondering if they sent me a spring that is too heavy, because I needed a C-Clamp to get the bracket back on... .

I know a few of you have put these in before, have any of you had similiar problems? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try before I have to shell out the cash for a DTT or GB VB?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I might just buy a VB from Dave and then when I get the funds I'll buy the rest of the tranny without a VB, then switch them. I just figured since I bought this TFOD I would try to get it running right, I'm gonna sell it to my buddy when I dump this trans, so I need to get it running right sooner or later.

Alright well I just ordered a Goerend VB...it better be worth it for 550 or whatever I paid. But Les said it won't be ready to ship until Friday at the earliest since Dave will have to build one, which means I'm driving my truck with no reverse for the next week or more, this oughta be fun!!!

Matt,
Believ me it was one of the best moves I made my trany was acting up big time when I bought my Vb and converter and other little parts, but to be honest all I did was the Vb so far and it's like a new trans!! I don't know maybe I just got lucky? I'm not sure but I had all kinds of issues and then I changed out thew vb and adjusted the bands and bingo it was like a new trany! Now all I have to do is russel up some help and put in the converter, getting help is my problem once I do I'm thinking then I be real Happy......
