my 97 5 speed transfercase will not go all the way in to gear has any one else had this problem. Thank you

 

There is an slip type asdjuster on the shift rod that runs from the transfer case shifter to the transfer case. It may have moved enough to prevent the transfer case from going all the way into low range. Loosen the lock bolt and move the adjuster toward the transfer case. I'm don't know how far you should move it - you'll have to use trial and error.

No guarantees, but I'd give that try on my outfit.
