Trans temp light and OD light

I have a 97 3500 with a cummins and 4 speed automatic trans. Recently it stared downshifting out of overdrive on its own. At first I only noticed the OD pushbutton light coming on when this happened but then I saw the trans temp light going on and off at the same time.
I borrowed a Snapon diagnostic computer and watched the trans temp sensor bouncing all over the place even hitting 150C- no way right!?
So I go to the Dodge dealer to get a trans temp sensor and one says there is no such thing on my truck and another one says it is part of the trans fluid pressure sensor on the OD section of the valve body.
Can't find anything online that answers if there is one and what is the part number.
Any of you Cummins studs know the answer? Thanks a bunch!
Love my Dodge!!

The transmission temperature sensor is part of the governor pressure sensor and is not serviced seperately. The trans temp sensor resistance value changed with 2000 model year. If wrong governor pressure sensor / valvebody / transmission assembly is installed the trans temp sensor value will be incorrect. Verify correct part is used. IDENTIFICATION and RESISTANCE VALUES: [A]: 1999 and prior (round connector at sensor) = 1,000 ohms resistance. [B]: 2000 and later (flat connector at sensor) = 2,000 ohms resistance. Resistance values are approximate and should be checked at room temperature.

Thanks for confirming that BigIron!!

I'll get started on changing it in the morning.

Ignore that prior post, just wanted to add that quote to the original after seeing yours from Edwin Burke.
