Either things have changed or they don't know what they're talking about. The tower is much too critical to trust to bolts in my opinion. My Jeep Liberty had a similar recall that was bolt on, perhaps they are mixing them up.
Here's a copy of the recall procedure.

No kidding, to do both sides it takes over 12 hours.

I know this is a dodge forum, but do you know if they have the same thing for gm cars?

As far as sending the truck out for welding, my local dealer said they had a database of which dealers in the area had certified welders. I ended up driving 45 minutes to get that recall done, so maybe his dealer is big enough that they have a certified welder... I don't know what they're talking about with the bolt on brace, though?

I don't know of one that applies to a specific vehicle like the Dodge site but there are several that can tell you which recalls there were for specific models/years.
They won't tell you if the recall has been performed or not though.
Here's one

Mine does the same

Mine does the same thing. I replaced the sensor and the trans temp light comes on no matter whether its 10 below or 90 degrees out when you first turn it on to cycle the air warmer. I got another sensor, DID NOT INSTALL IT, plugged it in, taped it out of the way and the truck runs like a champ. No issues until winter time, (SW Colorado) then I hose clamp the sensor to the trans line and it warms it up enough to make it work. I am looking for a resister to trick the computer once and for all. The tranny was rebuilt 15000 mile ago and works great except for the dang temp sensor. I would live to get my hands on the engineer who decided that this tranny should go into this truck. Weak link for sure.
