I'm a little confused reading this post. Do you have a truck with a VE pump, and the 518 tranny? If so, I would post this in the 1st Gen forums, you will have better luck finding an answer.

I don't know why the trans would be doing that, but I would reccomend a rebuild anyway. The torque converters are known to be sloppy, and if you plan on turning the truck up, the stock 518 will be a major holdback.
