trans fluid choice and starting question
Hey yall, I just bought a 1997 dodge 2500 club cab long bed 4x4 5spd bone stock. It has 140k on it, a real clean truck. Anyway, couple of issues to ask about:
After initial start up, which it does fine...the truck dies and starting is a pain, like its starving for fuel. Is this just a cracked line allowing air to enter and draining the fuel back to the tank? How do I fix it?
Any special trans fluid available instead of the stock stuff that yall would recommend?
More questions to come, thanks for all the help

Yes it sounds like an air leak but how you fix it depends on where it is.

Personally I would only use the OEM recommended tranny fluid although some people have had luck with Amsoil MTG.
You can get the recommended Castrol Syntorq here for a better price than elsewhere> http://www.quad4x4.com./index.html
Definitely don't experiment with anything else, it's not worth it.
