track-bar question

track-bar question
if the truck is lifted, do you need a longer or shorter track-bar?
mine has the leveling kit, should I just get an adjustable one?
I want the strongest they make, who makes the best?

Well, "the best" is in the eye of the beholder. I personally have a Thuren trac-bar and love it, beefy and rebuildable and also not too pricey. But the simple answer for your q is yes....but you can get away with using the stocker, the axle will just be pulled to the drivers side a bit. If you have the money i would get one anyways though because the stockers are junk.

I am making a trac bar out of chromemoly heims from summit racing. I have had one end of the stock track bar a heim for about a year now, and I am going to make the whole thing, and put heims on each end to allow me to adjust the axle side to side. right now the axle is a little too far to the passenger's side.

You might want to taka a look at the Solid Steel track bar distributed by Source Automotive. It is adjustable, heavy duty and with your year truck it has a retrofit kit to eliminate the ball joint (bushings on both ends of the track bar)
I installed one on my 2001 with a 2" lift and it is nice and solid.
