Does the potentiometer trick work on second gen 12 valve rigs?
Oh yeah, for those who have done it. How much did you enlarge the holes on the TPS? 5/16"?
Yes the potentiometer trick works,,, my was basically dead and did the pot and have run the same dead one for 2 years on my 96 and 14 months on my 98 dually... plus with the pot, you can turn the voltage higher so OD kicks in at different sppeds, factory is 47 mph... now I have both mine set to 1.5 at rest and trans wont shift into OD till 55 mph

I'm sure there is some reading if you do a search.

If the stoplight switch is set hair trigger, Your stoplights will flicker on an uneven road surface causing your truck to jump out of overdrive.

TPS Adjustment or Flash Update for Torque Convert.

I have taken my truck to the dealership to diagnose the hunting in out of gears at around 60km/hr. The dealer is telling me that no codes show and that they want to flash update (I guess the PCM) for the torque converter. I am wondering if they are blowing bubbles or If I should push them on exploring the TPS further?

The TPS in my 95 was terrible for hunting. Installed the noise filter capacitor 3yrs ago and it went away.

If you need to buy a TPS, I hear Napa is the cheapest.
