This page gives a diagram for a hookup that will not set any codes on you.

12 valves don't usually need the resistor loop.

Did not know what he has, that's off the TST site and all are there anyway. Just hope it helped.

Know of a good link to a description of a 3 position switch. I prefer it over the simple on/off but it is difficult to write out.

Try this thread. Gives a modification of the TST two position to make it a three position.

I remember writing that ... Flyzlo has an absolutely pristine 1st gen

Sorry, I didn't phrase my question correct. I meant to ask for a schematic not a description.

I noticed the TST people describe jumping a sylenoid. Is this needed for a 96 CTD?
I'm Still waffling on this mod because of hearing a few differing oppinions on the added wear to my trans. Its only got about 10k on it, but i towed my jeep this evening up a large hill. It just rev's in 2nd and generates a lot of heat in the trans. I think it would be happier locked up.

Sorry for late reply. Off to Scout Camp the past week.
You have to jump the solenoid to force lockup. The PCM controls it as well.

Ok first off make sure if its a early 96 that you get the computer reflashed..if you dont it wont unlock when you flip the switch. Early 96s are ones built between Sept 1995 and Feb 1996

Now as for 2nd gear lockup, that all depends on how it was rebuilt, some will lock up in 2nd and some only in 3rd and overdrive. I know my trans will lock up in 2nd, as it was built to do that
