Timing my 96

I would like to time my 96 dodge diesel P-pump. I have never done it before. There is no one in this area that will set it other than stock setting. I have read thread after thread about it until my head hurts and my eyes glaze over. I do not do well learning from reading but can learn from seeing. Does anyone know of a video of someone advancing the timing of this pump? I have looked through youtube but couldn’t find what I needed, maybe I missed it. There is a good one about timing the 1st Gen truck. So please, if you know of one let me know.

You need special tools for it. Mainly a dial indicator, and the rod to go down into the hole where the delivery valve is. You could probably get away with a regular dial indicator, if it has a rod long enough to reach down into that hole.
The tools run about 300.00. Might be worth while for you to drive a ways to someone that can take care of it for you.
Where are you located?

Where are you from? Go to whatever local chapter you would belong to, I bet there is someone there who can do it, or who can lead to a place to have it done.

The Snap On kit is SP-500, should be about $250. I think you'll need to buy a DV socket and a barring tool, but will become very handy for you if you plan to do it more than once.

My question was not how to do it, I stated that I have read many post on that. My question was, dose anyone know of a video SHOWING how to do it.
