Throttle stuck
I just bought a 95 and i was driving home today from CT where i purchased it, all was good and then all of a sudden, the truck just started to accelarate and i was not even stepping on the throttle. My foot was completely off the gas pedal and the truck maintained and increased speed, like the cruise control was on or something, however the truck does NOT have cruise control. I managed to get it over to the side of the highway shift it into N and turn it off with the key and coast to a stop. Now every time i start the truck, it immeditatley red lines. I checked all the throttle linkage and everything seemed to check out just fine and was free of any bind ups. Thinking that somthing is stuck inside the pump. Any suggestions? Thanks

You may be eligible for a free throttle recall although it doesn't sound like the problem.
Go here to check, you will need your VIN Dodge Recalls Online
From what you describe it sounds like the injection pump rack is stuck.
If you take the AFC cover off you might see the end of the rack protruding into the plate area and gently pry it back with a screwdriver.
Don't know what caused it to happen or if it will happen again.

Thanks for the reply. From what i have read online on different forums the symptoms i had seem to equal up to a stuck fuel rack. I have also read when this happens that the pump needs to be rebuilt. I have it at a shop in Mass and he is going to go through it for me and see whats worng and what it needs. Thanks
