Throttle linkage recall

I was spotting a trailor when the go pedal fell to floor. The cable was ok - but the linkage between the cable & the P pump ,where there's a ball and socket connection , fell apart. When my wife went to buy some new parts the dealer asked if it had "The recall" performed yet on the throttle linkage. Huh.... what recall?

Will this replace the ball & socket with new?

Has anyone had this recall done & does it have anything to do with the ball & socket connection that fell apart on mine?

If it does replace the worn ball & socket for free it will feel like Christmas! With near 200k on it i'm not complaining after all mechanical things do wear out.

Re:Throttle linkage recall

Free sounds good

My appointment is in the morning

Some one told me that it changes the angle of the linkage itself

I guess I'll find out tomorrow

If parts that are on the recall list only last 7 years & 196,000 miles I wonder how long the 'good parts' will last?!

Re:Throttle linkage recall

I got mine done a little over a year a go. I think that this is the peice that they replace. Just make sure that they tighten up the jam nuts on bith sides. When mine was done it ran fine but the next day I hooked up to a trailor and had hardly no power, and when we had a truck on and I was going home I lost the trottle. It was because this adjustment had loosened up. Luckly I did not loose anything. It is free to get done, and while you are there you can ask them about the hood latch recall if you haven't got that done either.
