Think I need to post again

Going back to my original thread, I am looking for information if anybody is familiar with the recall on the wiring harness needing to be replaced on the older Dodge trucks with tilt I read the hardness wears through and you have do not start problem
And does anyone know if this is a common problem for ignition switch to go bad if this is my problem, trying to get some information before I start tearing the column apart

"older" - how old? What model-years? I never heard of such a recall for my '96.

A 1998 12V truck was only built for 3 months and is it own special wire harness.
They came out with the 1998.5 truck with the 24V after a very short run of 12V.

I have a 1998 12V SRW 3500 QCSB truck myself. It is a very low production truck.

No dealer is going to have that wire harness, even if they wanted to change it for you.

Ok

I guess we're both unusual that we have such a low production truck, but I want to know if that harness wears out and wears through is the question if there is a problem with them

It is a very simple harness. You can simply remove it and peal the tape off. Then inspect it.

I do not see any Dodge dealer having access to those wires, or wanting to do a recall on them.

Seeing as how you have experience with this wiring harness a year ago or so I had an injury and was taken away in the ambulance, and my truck was towed with the windows open and sat for six months and obviously rain water got in from the rain how often does that harness where plugs in the firewall and bolts down do they corroded on vehicles? If you know and is a common when you're older at this area gets corrosion in the wires
