Temp gauge

just noticed yesterday on the first 100* day that when its over 90* outside that the temp gauge is very steady i.e. not like when its 70* or less & it moves about 30* or more, this is normal right?

I would say so because the exhaust gases do not cool down as quick due to the hot air and the heat soaking of the engine. Everything is just hotter and needs more time to cool down. Just what I have observed

Thanks I thought that it was normal to have a much smaller variation when the outside temp was hotter.
