TCI (GAS) Converter 142240 in a 1st Gen 727

Hi,

I'm on the hunt for a reasonable priced Converter for a 89/727/2WD 1st gen Cummins which is available outright without a core
as it has to be shipped to germany. TCI 142240 is not really advertised beeing a Diesel Converter but its has the correct 24 input Splines,
low stall 1000-1200RPM is made for towing and according to TCI Tech Depart it shall survice behind a Cummins even with around 500 Torque.

But I guess I need to get rid of the Starter Ring, anybody has done that in the past?

Am I missing something else? Comparing to most other offers I can see 395$ for this one looks like a steal

Well, gas TCs on the diesel do not work good in my experience.
I don't know if this would help you, but I migh be able to get you a TC from a 99 diesel truck with the 47RE trans. (Stock part used)
Naturally this converter has a lockup clutch.
If it fits you can have it for the price of shipping it from Austria to you, should be no customs duties or taxes on it.
