Welcome to DTR Billy.

I would hope he got those tappet cover bolts torqued down a WHILE ago, as he asked that question 11 years ago.

Ha! Hopefully! I HOPE he wasn’t still waiting for the answer!
I too, looked in vain for the tappet cover torque spec in my 3 edition set of O.E.M Ram Truck service manuals (guessing 1500+ pages all told!)
as well as my Chilton manual.
It’s VERY odd to me, “tappet cover” or “push rod cover” isn’t even mentioned. In either.
Can’t think of anything else it might be called, so thinking both publishers omitted it.
Weird!
Went with 18 ftl/bs.

Welcome to our forum, kcir...Not to keep beating a now 15 year dead horse, but 1500 pages would seem like a pamphlet in my library...The copy of the FSM I have for the truck in my sigline is 10,696 pages......Ben

15 year old threads are the ones that sometimes most come back to life! (??)
Thanks for the welcome! Hard to believe 21 years have come and by without my ever posting before…what the heck….?
Seriously though, that 10,696 page tome of yours is ONE book or set, just for your ONE truck?
My three book set is exactly 5” thick, sitting here on the table. Can’t image how tall yours sits! Would need a heavy workbench to support it all.
I guess the more modern and complicated trucks like your ‘09 need to have immense manuals to cover it all?
Ha, wonder what the 2023’s factory shop manual sets look like?
Wonder too, if there is any mention of the tappet cover gasket in yours? Assuming the 6.7 has one like my 5.9.
Cheers.
Rick
