Takes more cranking to start...
#17
I'd set the idle to the correct level first since it's easier. It could be your starter. How fast does it crank? Mine was definitely cranking slower than after I rebuilt it. Also, check your grid heaters. The "wait to start light" may come on but it doesn't mean your heaters are actually working. That's another thing I actually noticed could've contributed to my longer cranking issue.

My truck does the same thing only I don't have to crank 3-4 seconds for it to start. I haven't timed it but I'd guess its more like 1-2 seconds, but the lightest touch on the throttle and it starts immediately. Happens warm or cold.
Idle has been set and the batteries are new within the last year. Cranking speed seems very good to me.

well cranking speed seems good, i put 2 optima in it 980ca. dont think my heaters are working? wts goes out but voltage level does not jump? i would think it would, correct? jump moves up to 14v and stays there. i am going to bump up idle for now.
