Swapping springs-D25 tips?
I will be swapping the springs out soon. Going to the skyjacker D25s. Anyone have any tricks or tips? What steps should I go through to make it as painless as possible?.. Thanks

Get some Help 1st
spring compressors are a must, a lift helps a ton, you'll need new shocks, and the front end becomes taller than the rear. I bought some taller rear lift blocks, I thought they were too tall so I shaved them down but I went for T-Rex mini packs instead and they're awesome.

disconnect your sway bar ends and watch your vacuum line and wire going to front axle, also watch the breather tube for front diff.as you are letting axle drop out,and then get a front end alignment soon.also unbolt brake hose hanger from the point where the control arm and axle meet up.all these things will allow you to drop axle out farther giving you more room to get the D25,s in and old springs out..good luck.

I didn't need a spring compressor (they can also be dangerous so be careful). I just used the jack from my truck to spread the arm slightly and slipped out the old and in with the new. All in all it took less than 1.5 hours for the change. Several other guys have also used this method with great results.

you will also need to remove the shocks before the springs can come out, take the shock towers off and the shocks will come out the top, passenger side shock will come out the top easy lot's of room, the driver side shock is alittle trickier, remove tower then push down on shock to compress it all the way then wire it in this postion by using some common wire ,wrap wire around upper and lower mounts of shock, this will give you more room to get the shock past the mess of lines and stuff thats in the way above the driver side shock tower.then change springs, when installing new shocks put the shocks down the hole first then put the towers on before cutting the band that holds the shock compressed, you will need longer shocks 2.5 inches...
