trying to take care of a bunch of niggly problems with my otherwise flawlessly operating 97 auto....in reverse...under load...if i take my foot off the accelerator suddenly...the engine stalls...usually when backing up stock or horse trailer...no brakes involved...just backing up...let up on accelerator suddenly and the engine dies...any ideas??? thx...vs

 

Adjust the idle up a bit. That should fix it.

 

Idle should be 750 RPM's in gear with A/C on. If that doesn't stop it maybe the overflow valve. That was my problem a couple years ago.

 

Your idle should be even more than that , check your CPL plate for the correct idle specs, 800-850 should be more like it. My CPL says 860, my friends 98 12v 5sp says 920.
