Stil having rough idle issues
Im still having rough idle issues, and have been working on fixing the problem over the last couple months with no luck. First things are the symtoms: rough idle when warmed up, and if i idle for more then a 2 or 3 minutes it will puff a whitish smoke when i take off.
Ill list the things i have done in maintence and performance respect to increase power and fix this problem.
1.) Timing was bumped up last year and rechecked just a couple months ago
2.) Valves were adjusted
3.) Fuel Heater was removed and new o rings were pust on
4.) New pre filter and fuel filter
5.) New fuel lines and fuel pickup tubes
6.) New Lift pump
7.)New hose between prefilter and lift pump
8.) New 215 injectors
9.) Checked for air leaks by pressurizing the tank to 6 or so psi. Nothing found a leak on the prefilter bowl and replaced the o-ring, fixed that leak, couldnt find any others, made no difference in idle.
10.)Checked fuel pressure with a gauge at the injection pump, gauge was really spiking but it looked like at an idle fuel pressure was about 25psi
WHAT could it be!!??
Im Stumped......

It was doing it way before the injectors, and one the injectors were installed it didnt make a difference at all. I was helping a buddy with his ctd on the side of the highway and i let my truck idle for about 10 minutes, it was loping, which is nothing new and it put out a pretty good poof of white smoke upon takeoff. My oil level is fine, meaning no abnormal consumption, and my coolant level is not dropping at all. My overflow valve is about a year old and my fuel pressure is testing fine i think. Im stumped, and it driving me crazy!

I was just thinking about it tonight, is there any chance that could be caused by a bent pushrod? or is that just a dumb thought with no correlation to symtoms like that?

I know I am new to the CTD scene myself, but I have read a ton of posts on here. Have you had the timing checked? If it is injecting fuel at the wrong time on even one of the cylinders it could cause a rough idle, but under load you might not notice any problems because the power of the other five would cover it up. Just throwing it out there, I may be way off. It's worth a look though.
