Steering Problems

Took 97 To Garage And Had Front And Rear Sway Bar Links, Power Steering Pump, Steering Box, And Trac Bar Replaced. Now The Steering Wheel Is Upside Down Going Straight. Will Alignment Fix Or Did Mechanic Do Something Wrong? And Help Would Be Great. Thanks

Be real careful with that until you get it fixed. The clockspring (runs to airbag and cruise) is only designed to turn so many times. With the steering wheel off a 1/2 turn already you probably don't want to turn it to the lock so that you don't break the clockspring. Trick is going to be figuring out which way it is off (left or right). Good luck!

Uhh... I think the mechanic messed up. I would get it fixed and then never go to that shop again! It's happened to me in the past as well. I don't understand how a mechanic can call it an alignment when the steering wheel is off center.

Off center can be an alignment issue, it all depends on what was replaced. Upside down is definetely not cool. I have no alignment rack at my shop, but when I do front end work I always get the wheel within a few degrees of center and always set the toe-in with a tape measure.

Any Mechanic who doesn't do at least those two things, is just being lazy.
