Steering Box

Well I just went over 150,000 miles and stuff is starting to break on my truck. My steering box is leaking at the input shaft seal. Has anyone else had this happen to them and how much do they cost. Where is the best place to get one. My water pump is also leaking. At least I think it is the water pump. There is a pulley just above the idler pulley that I am guessing is the water pump. I have not had to do one of these yet so that is why I sound like an idiot. It is not leaking badly yet but I am sure that is will soon. Does anyone have any advice on these two things. Thanks in advance.

Re:Steering Box

I have read other posts here and on a few other dodge diesel sites. As far as the water pump, to quote "is one of the easiest water pumps you will ever change". I am told around $60.00 for the pump at Napa, and only 3 bolts. Not really a gasket, but a seal. Sounds easy!

The steering box is a little more challenging and can't comment to much on it. I think I have read that the seal is replaceable, but I can't tell you how. Perhaps others with more experience than I will chime in. Do a search as well, and good luck, Kevin
