Thanks , I didn't bid much , been looking for a while on ebay and the a few places mentioned on the diesel sites , when I see a price on a site that I trust its close to $200 rebuilt and $360 new , then I see these rembiults on ebay go for about $100 , I suspect that there chinze junk [ I'm seeing so much of that these days ] I know that when ever I get any of the cheap stuff it does not last , and I'm not talking about a long time , some times I'll install that stuff and it will break just looking at .

John;
Check Larry Buck's pricing on new starters http://fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm
Are you sure you need a whole starter? NW Power In Thief River Falls is a great local source for parts. I got a set of brushes (4) for less than the price quoted for each by other sources

I got into my starter a month ago when I replaced the L.P. & overflow valve .
Saw the conntacts were getting a little worn , and broke the insulater for the small start wire [ fixed that with small plastic bits ] did not get into looking at the brushes , was afraid to replace the conntacts [ did not want to break there insulators also ] , I've got it working now , the problum is with only one viehical I do not want to get stuck with it apart and not enough parts , I saw a rebuild started that looked like it may go cheap on ebay , but I did not get it [ sold for about $76 ] .
I've been doing buis with some rebuilders intown but the rebuild buis is slowing down like every thing els so they seem like a little uptight just selling parts, I'll have to check out your source .
